Each year in September, Sebewaing: Trinity UMC begins collecting items to fill shoeboxes, praying they will share the love of Christ at Christmas. We do this because we believe that God can take our humble offerings and change lives of children and their families. So we work throughout the months of October, November and the first week in December to gather, fill, package, pay for shipping and transport the shoeboxes to the place where they will be sent off all over the world with our blessings. If you would like to join in the fun of filling a shoebox, there is a bin in the Narthex—just outside the doors to the Sanctuary for you to leave your items in and envelopes in the pews that you can label “Shoeboxes” or “Operation Christmas Child,” so we can either shop for you or put your donation towards the cost of shipping, which is $7.00 per shoebox.
